Discussion Forums
The ability to raise issues, share positive experiences, point out shortcomings, express aspirations and discuss the finer points of familiy-school partnerships in an open yet controlled virtual environment is regarded as a definite benefit to all parties concerned.
Online discussion forums provide such an avenue for discussion.
The Family-School & Community Partnerships Bureau will progressively make available online discussion forums that may focus on a particular issue, or a group of people who wish to pursue a particular issue.
These forums will be free to participants but will require participants to register so that they are held accountable for their comments. Participants will be able to contribute under a username – effectively remaining anonymous – but their identity will be known to the forum moderators.
The moderators will have the ability to approve or deny the publication of all comments. As the publisher, the Bureau takes on a certain level of legal responsibility for all comments made, and will have the power to remove or edit comments.
Threads of discussion will be supported to allow participants to follow topical conversations in which they are interested, independent of discussions taking place elsewhere in the forums.
