Helping Your Child With Primary School: Facilitator Training

On 29 February 2012 by admin

This one-day training for facilitators explores the 6-week community parenting group work program, ‘Helping Your Child with Primary School’. The program targets all parents/carers who have children of primary school age (5-12 years old).

The program covers all the essential issues that are of interest and concern for parents/carers in helping their children with school.

The objectives of the workshop are to:

  • Look at and discuss some of the components of learning
  • Understand the interaction that parents can have with their child’s school
  • Discuss how to use components of this program with a variety of groups
  • Discuss some of the challenges that parents may experience in relation to their child’s development.

This workshop will help to give facilitators some practical tips and tools to effectively run the group sessions in the community. Essential group leadership skills will be explored and participants will have the opportunity to practice facilitating sections of the program.
